Jolene and Pat’s San Miguel de Allende Portrait Session | Lifestyle Photography in Mexico

25 de November de 2025

I first met Jolene on Instagram, where I quickly found myself completely obsessed with her wedding photos, her lifestyle, her beautiful home, her impeccable sense of style… and her closet. What a closet!

One day, I  send her a message, and we started chatting. Somewhere along the way, she mentioned that her mom is Mexican, and I knew it! That spark she has had to be Latina!! We ended up chatting for hours, and before saying goodbye, I told her, “If you ever visit San Miguel de Allende, I would absolutely love to photograph you and your husband.”

And, as the good manifestation queen that I am, the day eventually came.

Jolene and Pat planned a trip to San Miguel de Allende, and at the same time, she and I started planning their portrait session. We decided on a morning session, which, as you probably already know, is my favorite time of day to photograph.

We wandered through the beautiful streets of San Miguel de Allende, stopping whenever the light, the architecture, or a little moment caught our attention. We talked, laughed, explored, and let the morning unfold naturally. No complicated posing, no pressure, just the three of us enjoying the city and documenting this little piece of their trip to Mexico.

There is something so special about photographing people while they travel. You get to capture not only what they looked like in a particular place, but also how it felt to be there together.

After wandering through the historic center and finishing our portraits, we went straight to brunch at one of my favorite spots in downtown San Miguel de Allende: Jacques.

A beautiful morning, the best light, a city I love, and wonderful people I’m so happy Instagram brought into my life.
